Before tax. The totals assume YNAB's price stays where it is for as long as you keep budgeting, and the table below shows how often it has not.
Every price since YNAB 4
Each row was read in one of YNAB's own pages — most of them as the Wayback Machine archived them — and links to the copy it came from. Where those pages leave a question open, the row says so rather than filling it in. The table scrolls sideways.

The archive was read at intervals, so a short-lived promotion between two copies could be missing. A price increase could not: each of these stayed on the pricing page for months or years.
What you get for it
One plan, paid yearly or monthly. Balances, goals and transactions sync across your devices in real time; target-setting covers spending and savings goals; there are debt tools with a loan calculator; and direct import works with select US, Canadian, UK and EU banks. One subscription covers up to six people — partners, families and other close-knit groups. College students get a free 365-day trial. All of that is as YNAB's own pricing page describes it.
The free trial is 34 days, with no credit card, when you sign up on YNAB's own site, and 30 days if you subscribe through the App Store, according to YNAB's help page on the trial.
If you would rather pay once
That is what we make. Fundkeep is envelope budgeting for iPhone, iPad and Mac, $39.99 once, with no bank connections — what stays the same, and what you give up. The apps you can buy outright, ours among them, are on their own page.
